Kristen Melton-Romero

Age 49

My twenties and thirties were spent caring WAY too much what people thought of me, twisting and conforming to society’s view of what a woman ‘should be’, how a woman ‘should’ look, what a woman ‘should’ do. My favorite thing about being a woman over 40 is I have learned how to love and accept myself, light and darkness, the wholeness of who I am. I am absolutely 100% in love with ALL the parts of myself!

I am living my most extraordinary life right now by traveling the world. I love spending quality time with family and friends going to dinner or cooking, dancing, pool parties, just hanging out laughing and being silly. (Yes, you can be silly in your 40’s and beyond!) My husband, brother, and I are growing our family business and taking that to a whole new level. Cooking is a passion of mine, I am always trying different recipes, making them my own. I love creating charcuterie boards and am pretty darn good at it!!

In the next decade, I aspire to expand and take our family business to a new level, create additional streams of income, and continue creating a legacy for my family that will last for years to come. I also have a dream to create a non-profit foundation benefiting woman and children that are in crisis situations.

When I saw my portraits for the first time, I felt beautiful, inviting, soft, sexy, and confident. There was an overwhelming amount of emotion, I laughed, cried, and said “wow” multiple times. I feel the pictures perfectly captured the wholeness of who I am as a woman…the loving, caring, nurturing, playful side and the strong, badass, powerful side of myself. A perfect dance of my feminine and masculine energy.
