My favorite thing about being a woman over 40 is paying attention to simple joys. I don’t have to always be happy and things don’t always have to go well or be “just fine,” but there always are moments which I now notice where there is joy. It’s so lovely.
I am living my most extraordinary life right now by running two companies, exploring and growing with an important man in my life, and supporting my two daughters while they journey through their college experiences. Having a full plate is both invigorating and, in truth, sometimes maddening…but it’s real, and it’s what’s important to me.
In the next decade, I aspire to become a dual citizen of Italy and buy a home there. The opportunity to visit and belong in the country of my ancestors is so exciting! I never even visited there until I was around 55 years old, and now – even with a worldwide pandemic – I’ve visited at least 5 times in the last 5 years!
When I saw my portraits for the first time, I felt beautiful and excited that the images reflected *me* – and I really, really loved them. So the feeling was happiness, and satisfaction, and a ton of excitement as well. It was so fun to see them, pore through SO MANY of them, and ultimately pick my favorites.
