My favorite thing about being a woman over 40 has been the ability to shoulder so much more of life. The wisdom gained from trials and tribulations, paired with a broader understanding of what truly matters, has brought clarity, ease, focus and grace to even the most challenging of days. I humbly desire and hope that I gain the privilege to influence, with credibility, those beautiful souls who will someday stand where I am today, making every day worth it.
I am living my most extraordinary life right now by practicing 3 R’s consistently: reflecting, rejoicing and readjusting. Little steps are the essentials for every journey and reflecting on them regularly, whether they are wins or learns, reminds me of just how far I’ve come and that none of it happened over night. Life can be hard! Rejoicing always helps to reset my perspective, especially when the “learns” come. I never mind change, so the readjusting keeps me constantly seeking a higher outcome, a better way, all while applying clarity, focus, ease and grace.
In the next decade, I aspire to start another career. Being the owner of a Plumbing Service Company has been a wild ride and while I have loved being “down and dirty” for the past 25 years, I’m ready for a “cleaner” more delicate approach to my work. My creative side has not left me wanting for ideas and I’m sure one will land shortly. Meanwhile, “the world is my oyster,” as they say, and perhaps I’ll travel it too.
When I saw my portraits for the first time, I loved them. I had another reason to celebrate the woman I was looking at. She was brave enough to say “yes” to the photos, strong enough to see the decision through, and kind enough to look at the woman in the photos and not pass judgment.
